Features:
Grizzly is a big man that slightly waddles when he walks. His face is covered with a long scraggly black and grey beard. His skin is weathered and tight from spending most of his life in the mountains. His face is badly scarred from a mountain lion he tangled with a few years back. He wears a big bear skin coat, and brown leather pants covered in patches and repairs. His hat is made from a mountain lion, and when you look at his face your also looking right at the big cats face. It peers at you as if it were grizzly's minds eye watching you. His boots are black leather, which he has wrapped with beaver skins to keep them warm. Around his neck is what appears to be a charm of some sort. With bears teeth, and a gigantic gold nugget hanging from the center. Around his waist is what some folks would consider a sword, but in fact is a knife with a 17" blade. It has a human arm bone carved into a handle, and the sheath itself is made from human skin. As far as equipment goes, Grizzly has all that he needs to make it in the wild. A canvas tent which is permanently hiddin somewhere in the mountains. Covered with limbs, and bushes so that its almost impossible to detect. He has all his cooking items, and his sleeping gear. He has traps for trapping just about any animal known to man. He has a .50 caliber muzzleloader that he calls {BUCK}. A .45 peacemaker, and his human bone handled knife. The only livestock Grizzly owns is one mule. It spends most its time tied to a tree here and there. Grizzly does not own any property. Its more like territory. If you venture into his land, it might be best to avoid him. If you must confront him, do so at your own risk! Money is not something that Grizzly has alot of, but he does keep a stash hidden in the woods for times in need. He does have that gold nugget around his neck, but he would not part with it for any price.
Background:
Grizzly's mother and father were mountain folk to. They birthed, raised, and taught Sam everything about trapping, hunting, fishing, fighting, and just plain survival in the wild country. Both of his parents burned to death while they slept in their cabin. Still no one knows how it started, although Grizzly did manage to make it out alive. He knows of no other family. As far as friends go, He has none! Most of Grizzly's past associations are no longer with us. Other than the kind of education you get from a lifetime in the mountains, he had none. Grizzly cant read nor write, but he does understand money. His father had taught him about this when they would sell skins back in the day. As mentioned before, his training came from his parents. Grizzly doesnt have to many grudges, due to the fact that most folks dont live long enough to hold a grudge against.
Strengths:
His biggest strength of course is that he's as strong as a bear, and built like a brick out-house. Some have said that getting hit by him is like being hit with a sledge hammer filled with dynamite. He is also a dead aim. No man nor beast has ever escaped his .50 rifle. He is also pretty dang good with pistols. At least with the one he keeps in his boot.
Weaknesses: Weakness is not a word used easily with Grizzly, but he does have some. For instance, he is so big that he is very slow. He's also not the smartest fella around. He's been known to be the victim of a con man or two. That by the way, have stayed clear of his path since. Another weakness is his drinking. If and when he does venture down to one of the saloons, he usually has to much to drink, and if they can get him there, usually ends up in jail. Woman are a weakness of his also, due to the fact that he's never been with one. Not bathing in ten years probably has something to do with it. And last but not least...Apple pie.
The Scenario:
~~He's big, and he's close~~ thought Grizzly as he rose from the ground where he had spotted some tracks. He moves forward slowly. Making sure of his steps so that he did not spook the animal. He spots what looks like a trail made by deer, and sees more tracks. He moves south of the trail, and comes across flat spots of grass where it seems several deer had been bedding down the night before. To his left he hears some rustling in the trees. He looks over and see'a what appears to be the rack of a giant buck. He drops to his belly, and crawls towards the deer making sure to stay behind its view. He inches his way to within about 25 yards, and peers through the tall grass. It is a glorious buck. Weighing something around 250 pounds. It had a massive rack, with what looked like 14 points. He inched his rifle from his side. Cocking it slowly, and as quietly as he could. He takes aim, and holds his breath.... with a boom that sounded like a bomb, the rifle slings the massive .50 caliber bullet into the upper side of the deer's chest. Piercing the ribs, entering his lung, and stopping at his heart. This took him right off his feet, and he was down to stay. Grizzly got up, and moved towards the buck slowly. Poking him with barrel of his rifle to see if there was any fight left in the creature. When he saw that it was dead as a door nail, he proceeded to gut the animal. Suddenly, off to his right he heard voices. He could not understand what they were saying, and that could only meen one thing. Indians! ~~They must have been hunting the same deer~~ Grizzly thought. With the voices getting closer, Grizzly figured that he better hide. He slithered to his belly and rolled back into some nearby bushes. The two indians arrived at the sight, shocked to find the deer they were after already dead and gutted. They knew that this meant that they werent alone. One indian brought up his bow and began searching. The other took out his knife, and went in the other direction strait towards Grizzly. At this point, Gri
zzly knew he had no other choice but to kill the indians. When the indian was right upon Grizzly, out of the bushes came a rifle butt smashing against his ankles, causing him to fall to the ground with an enormous thud. Grizzly then pounced on the injun, grabbing his wrist that held the knife to the ground. Bringing down his head with a crushing blow, he knocked the indian clean out. Just at that moment an arrow struck Grizzly in the thigh with a searing pain that shot throughout his body. He turned to his left to see the other indian attempting to string another arrow on his bow. Grizzly removed his knife and threw it with great force at the indian. The knife striking him in the chest, and piercing straight through and sticking out from his back about 3 inches. He was no longer a problem. He grabbed the arrow in his thigh, and yanked it out with a quickness. He took a rag from his pocket, and tied it tightly around the wound to stop the bleeding. Then he turned his attention back to the indian that was lying on the ground sleeping like a baby. He took out his 45 from his boot, walked up, and put a slug right into indians forehead. This made quite a mess, and some of it had splattered up and on Grizzly's face. He then went over and collected his knife from the other indian, wiping it clean on the indians pants. Turning around he made his way back to the deer. Reaching down and grabbing the animal, he flung it over his shoulder like a sack of potatos, and headed for his hidden home in the thick forest. He knew that before long other indians would come in search of their fellow tribesmen. Until then he thought... ~~Oh-well~~ ... He turned and walked away. Soon his figure disappeared into the thick dense forest.
